Under the management of a team of infirmarians (priest and seminarians), the Medical Unit tries to contain the medical needs of the students. When such needs require further professional medical attention, the team takes the individual to the St. Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha (managed by the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha) or other specialist hospitals, as the case requires.

Nevertheless, the emphasis of the unit is not only curative but also preventive. The Unit occasionally gives lessons and information of rich medical value to students, and even proposes, after diligent investigation, the administration of preventive medicines and vaccines.
